Dr. Randi Polk named CLASS 2019 Outstanding Mentor and Teacher.

Dr. Randi Polk was once again named the College of Letters, Arts, and Social Sciences' Outstanding Mentor and Teacher.  She recieved her award at the 2019-2020 Academic Year CLASS Convocation Meeting on Thursday, August 15th, 2019 in the Gifford Theater on EKU's Richmond Campus.  The award comes with a $500 stipend.

Two former “Honors Faculty Fellows” Dr. Randi Polk and Dr. Erik Liddell will be stepping up to split the duties formerly covered by Honors Program Associate Director Minh Nguyen, and both will henceforth hold the title of Associate Director of EKU Honors.

Jaydan Norris, EKU Spanish major, is studying abroad in Costa Rica this semester with the SOL Education Abroad Spanish Immersion program.  She is studying at the Latina University of Costa Rica in Heredia City. Originally founded in 1986 as the Universidad Interamericana, the Universidad Latina is among the most renowned private universities in Costa Rica.

Dr. Michael Rich, Associate Professor of Japanese and Chinese at EKU, was invited to participate in the Commemorative Kyudo Tournament for the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Omihachiman Kyudo Federation and the 20th anniversary of the construction of the Omihachiman Kyudojo on March 10 in Central Japan.

Manuel Cortés-Castañeda and José-Juan Gómez-Becerra joined peers from across the country at the McGraw-Hill technology symposium in Austin, Texas.  the McGraw-Hill World Languages team worked refine future iterations of digital resources such as their Recordable Video Chat activities, webinars, and other digital platforms.
