Chinese classes are taking Spring 2021 Graduate LiEllen Rhame to grad school and beyond
LiEllen Rhame graduated Cum Luade this Spring 2021 with a BS Animal Studies and Psuchology, and minors in Biology and Asian Studies. This is what she had to say:
I have no doubt that taking CHN 101 & 102, and therefore being able to complete my Asian Studies minor, helped me to succeed in my graduate school endeavors and will continue to help me in the future.
During the fall, I applied to both Duke Kunshan University and the University of Hawaii at Manoa (UHM). I was accepted to both. Duke Kunshan University offered me a 50% deduction in tuition and UHM offered me a graduate assistant position, a waiver of tuition, and a 20K stipend. In August, I will attend UHM as a graduate assistant and master's student in Geography and Environment. My advisor will be a Chinese American woman who studies cultural differences between China and Western Countries in regards to the environment. I plan to continue my Chinese language studies at UHM.
I have also sent in an application to UHM's East West Center's (EWC) Student Affiliate Program. The East West Center brings East Asian international students together with domestic students. If I am admitted to the program, I will be able to live on campus in the EWC's international residence halls and participate in their educational and leadership activities.
Again, thank you for allowing me to take the course and complete my minor!
Sincerely,
LiEllen Rhame
