Dr. Lily Li moves forward to be published in Modern Language Associations' Series: Teaching Chinese Film

Dr. Lily Li, EKU Adjunct Professor of Chinese & Humanities

Dr. Lily Li, instructor for the EKU Dept. Languages, Cultures, and Humanities for Chinese Studies and Humanities, is one step closer to seeing her chapter entitled “Chasing the Mermaid: Teaching Lou Ye’s Suzhou River (2000) as an Intercultural Text” accepted for the Modern Language Association Series revised edition of Teaching Chinese Film, edited by Zhuoyi Wang, Emily Wilcox and Hongmei Yu. The publication includes works from more than 20 prestigious international scholars in the field of Chinese literature and film.

Says Li, "I am very honored that my paper has been chosen for the edited volume. I got the original idea on the film from teaching it in my [EKU] FCC 210: Foreign Culture and Civilization - Chinese Culture through Cinema, last semester [Spring 2020]. My approach to the film is very original and also interesting to students, which is why I think the editors selected my paper."

Congratulations to Dr. Li on this momentous achievement!
